Summary

Through dance, we learn—to listen, to remember, and to respect. For Ano, hula fills her soul and her childhood with the stories of her ancestors and homeland. As she grows, she becomes a strong and courageous young woman, fueled by pride for her people. Join Ano in this majestic coming-of-age story, where she immerses herself in the wonders of her island and the wisdom of her elders. Along the way, she makes new discoveries, learns valuable lessons, and, most importantly, grows into her true self—one that is deeply rooted in the meaning of ‘aloha’.

Review

This is a very empowering tale of a young Hawaiian girl learning her roots through hula. There is a gorgeous display of adventure as Ano immerses herself in the land. It has a very mystical and colorful feel, but there is a darkness and fierceness to weave Hawaiian lore and encapsulate the vast power of nature’s harmony which must be respected.
